I need a private loan of 7,000 dollars! Is this do-able for me?

12 Apr 2010Ok, so I need a private loan of 7,000 dollars. I am willing to offer my car as collateral, which is a 2003 hyundai sonata. I make 30,000 annually untaxed and I work full time. I don’t pay for housing. The only problem is I don’t have a co-signer, and I’m young- 20. I have good credit but there’s not a lot in my history at this point.
Who can help me out with this? I’ve used a payment calculator and the payments monthly are definitely affordable for me.
I ONLY pay with a debit card. I use my checking account and not credit.

Doubtful that a bank or credit union will give you a loan.
also, for something to be used as collateral, it has to be worth more than the loan amount. Your 2003 hyundai, won’t cover it.
Time to take out a credit card or knock on your friends’ door.

How does someone earn 30k a year *untaxed*? Does that mean you are getting student loans or grants that you are counting as income, or you are self employed or a contractor and not filing tax returns?
A 2003 Hyundai is probably not even worth 7k. You may need a cosigner, as a personal loan is one of the hardest to get. Even harder for someone who doesn’t have a lot of credit history.
