I am a college student with a high past due bill. I can’t go back until it’s paid. Just wondering if anyone knows of a program or loans for people with very bad credit.

Is it okay to take out a student loan to pay for personal expenses while in college?
i missed the deadline for fafsa in the spring, and i only have a 500 scholarship for that semester and that is all. would is be wise to take out a student loan to buy books/personal items/food etc.? i know i can get fafsa the next semester, but what should i do for this one coming up!? i have like no money, and i am going to be taking 5 classes and two labs so working is not an option.

I am 28, a single mother of 2 and I am looking to finally start attending college this year. I know that I qualify for pell grants and such to pay for tuition but does anyone know if you can recieve student loans on top of that to help with living exspenses while attending classes. I just finished my second year in college. I have loan of $60,000 with interest rate of 10.25% – $50,000 on private loan (Sallie Mae Student Signature Loan) and the rest on federal subsidized loans. They are all under my name on my credit. How did this happen? I go to one of the most expensive private colleges in the country and I wasn’t so particularly wise while filling out my FAFSA in my freshmen year. My parents are not in a financially good position to take out loans for me…even federal PLUS loans. I have to get about $13,000 more for my junior year. I see seniors graduating with much less debt than I have right now, and I always worry about paying off all these loans in the future!!!! Has anyone been in a similar situation as me? Am I supposed to worry or is this pretty normal????? Any advice for a poor college student? THANK YOU!
How long does it take for a college to certify a Signature Student Loan from Salle Mae?
Monday the school will receive the loan after we completed the application on Friday, and the fee bill is due by thursday. So would it be certified before thursday or at least by tuesday/wednesday.
